Die Elternvereinigung lädt ein zum traditionellen Sommer Basar-Schulbüchermarkt am 19. Juni 2010 im Schulhof der ESM (bei schlechtem Wetter findet der Flohmarkt in der Aula der GS statt).
Die Bücherlisten sind auf der Webseite der ESM abrufbar www.esmunich.de
Es kann die ganze Vielfalt an Sommerartikeln, Sportsachen, Spielen, Büchern usw. angeboten werden. Aufbau der Stände ab 9.00 Uhr (Ablagemöglichkeit selbst mitbringen). Der Verkauf beginnt ab 9.30 Uhr. Zugang zum Schulgelände der ESM nur über den Eingang der Grundschule in der Rennertstrasse. Bitte beachten Sie, dass auf dem Platz vor dem Haupteingang sowie auf dem gesamten Gelände der ESM ein absolutes Fahr-und Parkverbot besteht.

Dear parents,
We would like to inform you of a decision made by the European School Munich (ESM) with regard to the admission criteria for category III pupils:
"The admission criteria for the Primary and Secondary School for school year 2010-2011 are as follows:
No admission of Category III pupils to any of the language sections will be possible both in the Primary and in the Secondary School and this will continue until further notice.
The only exception is Year 1 of the Primary School in case the minimum number of pupils to create a class is not reached (see Digest of Decisions 2009, Chapter XIX, Section A. Pedagogical Framework Rules). In this case, admissions will be permitted until the minimum number (7) is reached.
The Director of the European School Munich decides on the admission. "
Due to this decision, we believe that the smaller language sections (IT, ES, GR and NL) will disappear in the near future, more particularly, the GR and the NL language section will probably disappear within a few years.
The Board of the Parents' Association has actively tried to intervene in this matter since July 2009 (see letter to VP4) in order to come to a workable solution, but apparently all our efforts were unsuccessful.
We would like to ask any parents who feel affected or concerned by this decision to contact their language representative in the board of the Parents' Association (see Vorstand).

The admission criteria and total number of students belonging to the category III of the European School Munich (ESM) are once again subject of discussion and review. A letter has been sent on 31.03.2010 to Mr. McGinley, VP4 of the EPO. A copy of that letter can be found here:

09.03.2010Workshop for new canteen
We are looking for two more parents to take part in the participative design workshop taking place on the 25th and 26th of March at school, both days from 8:20 to 15:50. About 6 teachers, 6 parents, Il Cielo representatives and 30 pupils will take part in the workshop to come up with a utilization and design concept for the new mensa and cafeteria.
Participants will be chosen on a first-come basis. If you'd like to join, please contact me per email (kantine.vorstand@ev-esm.org) by Monday, 15.03. Please only volunteer if you are sure you can be present for the whole duration of the workshop.
